Before Pictures
All the pictures we took the day we moved in. We knew we were buying a "fixer upper" from the start. -
After Pictures
All the pictures we took when we listed the house for sale, 7 years later. -
Before/After Slider Comparisons
Before and After pics taken from relatively similar angles so you can see what changed. -
Master Bedroom
One of the first rooms we tore apart. This room started as a spare bedroom and we made it the master bedroom with the renovation -
Second Bedroom
This is the second upstairs bedroom. It started as nothing and became a baby room where we welcomed Samantha into our lives. -
Refinishing the Wood Floors
The floors had a terrible dark stain when we bought the house. We wanted something lighter. -
Front Steps
One of the few projects I hired a contractor for. I tore out the old steps, but didn't have the time or confidence to put in the new once myself. -
Living Room
Did this at the same time as the dining room. Another complete tear down and rebuild. -
Dining Room
Torn down to the studs and built back up, including refinishing the floor. -
Kitchen
My proudest accomplishment in our first house. Tore the whole place down to studs and sub floor. Replaced the wiring, the plumbing, and rebuilt it from the ground up. -
Mud Room
This was actually a pretty huge project because I put a door where there was once a window. When we bought the house I told my wife, "There is no hole I'm afraid to make." I proved it with this project. -
Vinyl Siding
Another one we hired contractors for. We had the hideous pink aluminum siding torn off and had the new siding put up. This was done at the same time I was building my new deck. -
Our First Deck
Designed by me and built with friends. I absolutely loved every part of this deck. One of the things I really miss about this house. -
Vinyl Fence
Rented an auger and me and a buddy installed all the posts and hung the fence ourselves. -
Laying Sod
After we had the fence and deck done we decided sod was the best way to make the lawn look great. -
Gas Line Install
Definitely the most dangerous project I took on. The gas company installed the meter. From the meter on it was my problem. When I was done I had the system pressure tested and approved by the township. -
Heater/Air Condition & Water Heater
When we bought this house it was oil heat with a tankless water heater/furnace. I had the oil tank removed and installed a new water heater and furnace/air conditioner myself - including all the duct work!
