Shaving my head for a good cause!
So I've volunteered to get my head shaved for a St. Baldrick's Day Event. I will be at the "The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Club" in West Orange NJ on Sept. 18th getting my head shaved to raise funds for children's cancer research. I need sponsor's though! Click through to sponsor me, and feel good about contributing to a good cause!
Down Power Line!
Had some excitement tonight. Bright flash, loud bang, momentary loss of power. Then the real fun began! Flashing lights, sirens, crowds start gathering. Walk outside to see a down power line 2 houses down. Still very much a "live" line too. Firemen and Policemen set up a perimeter, but basically they were just waiting for PSE&G. In the meantime I got some pretty good shots:
Great Holiday Weekend
Had a great holiday weekend! Started out on Friday with friends coming over. Watched Book of Eli, Then Kick-Ass. Saturday we went to a party in Hopatcong and set off some fireworks. That was cut a little short when a cop parked himself right next door. I sprained my ankle when I ran down the driveway to tell the others to cool it. Oh well, guess I took one for the team.

Connected to Facebook
Using the existing Drupal for Facebook module and a bit of custom code I was able to get cross posting to Facebook working! Now any new posts I create will be posted to my Facebook wall. Also, any visitors with a Facebook account can connect to my site and post comments and have them appear on their wall. Pretty cool stuff (OK, it's cool to me). Attached to this blog post is my custom module for doing the cross posts.
The NEW new site!
So a few months ago I revamped the site using Joomla! and the first thing I learned was that I hated Joomla. It was just too confining, customization was a pain. I wanted to simplify mainting my site, not take all my ability to customize out.
So, take two. This time I have relaunched with Drupal so far I LOVE Drupal. It gives me much more control over my site. Still have a lot of work to do, but I'm loving what I have so far. Stay tuned...
